During the last week of school, host an "early-bird birthday party" in your classroom for those students whose birthdays fall during the summer months. Pass around a card for each child to sign. Seal the envelope. Write that child's address on the envelope, along with writing their birthday on the bottom corner. Then several days before the child's summer birthday, remember to send it off! Those students will be so surprised to see that their teacher and classmates remembered his/her birthday- even when school was out!
