Lesser-Known Holiday Greeting Cards

After studying about adjectives, challenge your students to make up their own greeting cards for those lesser-known holidays. Challenge them to be as creative as they can with their usage of adjectives! Some of those holidays may include:

  • September: 10-Grandparents Day, 17- Citizenship Day 24- Good Neighbor Day,
    26- Birthday of Johnny Appleseed
  • October: 3-Butterfly and Hummingbird Day, 15- Grouch Day, 17- Black Poetry Day
  • November: 1-Author's Day, 3- Sandwich Day, 11- Veteran's Day
  • December: 15- International Language Day 21- First Day of Winter
  • January: 1- New Year's Day, 8- National Hugging Day
  • February: 11- Sweets Day, 24- Read to Your Child Day
  • March: 1- Pig Day, 2- Dr. Seuss Birthday, 22- Randolph Caldecott's Birthday
  • April: 1- April Fool's Day, 7- World Health Day, 12- Thank You School Librarian Day, 15- Rubber Eraser Day, 21- Kindergarten Day, 28- Arbor Day
  • May: 1- Mother Goose Day, 5- Cinco de Mayo, 6- Teacher Day, 8- No Socks Day
    12- Limerick Day, 16- Pickle Day
  • June: 5- World Environment Day, 7- Family Day, 9- Donald Duck's Birthday,
    18- Picnic Day, 27- Helen Keller's Birthday
  • July: Ice Cream Month, National Parks and Recreation Month
