Hidden Crayon Mural

Give each student a blank white sheet of paper. Instruct your students to cover over the entire piece of paper with different color crayons. Tell them to color as dark as they can. Then mix black tempera paint with a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Paint over top of the crayon so that your paper now becomes dark black. Let dry overnight. Finally take toothpicks and let your students scratch off the black paint into different pictures and designs. The crayon underneath should now show through. It makes a really neat image!
