Sending
away in the mail for a free gift is exciting and fun. Since I've
had disappointed students when companies don't perform I've become
the mail order center using a friend's address for the "Free
Stuff For Kids" company.
I make an order form that includes choices of items and requires
the student to fill in the blanks (name, address, phone, etc.)
and I have them include a self addressed, stamped envelope (this
can be a homework assignment). At school we fill out the order
form and follow the directions carefully.
I generally use items that easily fit in an envelope, for example,
bookmarks, fancy balloons, pencils, stickers, etc. They are always
excited when the "prize" arrives.
