Project Puppy Love

Purchase doggie bowls from your local discount store ($1 stores usually have them!) Put one at the office as well as one on each teacher's desk. Students can decorate the bowls with American flags and write, "Project Puppy Love" on them. You may want to show video footage of the hard work that search and rescue dogs must give when digging through rubble. All proceeds can then go toward purchasing dog booties. Search dogs require footwear to hunt through rubble without injuring their paw pads. Dog boots should be between medium (border collie) size to large (German shepherd) size. Any other canine first aid gear, such as vet wrap or eye/ear flush is also appreciated. Donations should be clearly marked "Rescue Dog Supplies" with a list of contents for categorizing and distributing. Send contributions to:

National Disaster Search Dog Foundation
