Idiom of the Day and DOL

Each day a student chooses an "Idiom of the day". I write it on the board for the next day with errors. As we review the Idiom, what they think it means and the dictionary meaning (I use the scholastic Idiom dictionary) we correct the errors as our D.O.L., such as needing quotations, capitals, proper spelling and usage of the word. Once complete we are sure to use the idiom throughout the day. I also personalize the idiom by using my or a student's name.
