can be done outside or inside in smallish tubs. Have each group
make two piles of dirt or sand: one that's just the dirt/sand with
some toy cars or people on it, and one that has little sticks and
branches and twiggs sticking out of it as well. Then use spray bottles,
pitchers, or cups of water to replicate rain. Have them notice where
the erosion happens and the difference between the two, they'll
begin to understand the effect of deforestation on our earth. Very
relevant to sections on weather, environment, and flora. |
