Fire
Drill
By Cathy Abraham
We
were all inside
Playing together well
When all of a sudden…
WE HEARD A LOUD BELL!!!
It
was loud. It was shrill.
“Line up!” said our teacher.
“IT’S A FIRE DRILL!”
“Leave
your toys and your games.
Line up right away.
Don’t get coats or bookbags -
Everything must stay.”
In
a line we walked
Together to the grass.
Everyone was outside -
Every other class.
This
was practice
To be safe if we need to.
If there is ever a fire
We’ll know what to do!
